Mark Andrew Hatcher

Mark Andrew Hatcher, 28, of Jefferson City died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home. He was born January 25, 1984, in Jefferson City.

He attended Helias High School through his junior year and was a 2002 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He earned an Associate degree from Columbia College and was working towards a Bachelor’s degree.

Mark worked for Staples in Jefferson City and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He had a passion for music, playing lead guitar for Ambient Fall, as well as several other bands. He was also a fan of NASCAR, especially Carl Edwards.

He is survived by his father, William Hatcher and wife Karan of Jefferson City; his mother, Charlene Connor and husband Bruce of Jefferson City; two sisters: Emily Hatcher of St. Louis, Erin Hatcher of Atlanta, Georgia; two step sisters: Mandy Moore and husband Preston of Jefferson City, Melissa Stanley and husband Steve of Russellville; paternal step grandfather, William Young; paternal step grandmother, Grace Clark; maternal step grandparents, Donald and Judy Connor; and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William and Evangeline Glass; paternal grandfather, William M. Hatcher; and paternal grandmother, Dolores Young.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Msgr. David D. Cox and Fr. Colin P. Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Band Together for Mark, for instrument scholarships and to assist people with special needs.
