Rosalie Heislen, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at St. Mary’s Health Center. She was born August 19, 1925, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Jerry and Rosa Gerling Goeller. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Peter High School in Jefferson City. On May 8, 1951, Rosalie was united in marriage at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, to Joseph Heislen, who preceded her in death on October 22, 1993.
Rosalie started working at the News Tribune in 1945 at the age of 19, and has worked there until the present as a Display Advertising Representative. Rosalie celebrated 67 years of dedicated work for the News Tribune on February 1, 2012. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Immaculata Club, and was a proud member of the business community for over sixty-seven years.
She is survived by a daughter: Mary Beth Vanderfeltz, husband Mark of Jefferson City; four grandchildren: Christopher Collins, wife Shannon; Renee Van Hersh, husband Ryan; Jessica Brown, husband Deric; Ben Vanderfeltz; six great-grandchildren: Sydney, Haleigh, and Landon Brown, Emma, Isabella, and William Van Hersh; two sisters: Virginia McDowell of Jefferson City; and Patricia Dulle, husband Lloyd of Jefferson City.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Reverend Monsignor David D. Cox officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
