Clarence Ray Washington, 50, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of Dora Nadine (Austin) Washington. Ray was a graduate of Jefferson City High School.

Ray worked for Lincoln University from 1981 – 1988, and also worked in automobile repair and various other jobs. He enjoyed basketball, football, automobile repair and loved listening to his music.

Ray is survived by his mother: Dora Nadine Washington of Jefferson City; two daughters: Stephanie L. Washington of Jefferson City; Wendy Steward of Jefferson City; one son: Ed Mahaney of Holts Summit; his soulmate: Phyllis Mahaney of the home; two brothers: Dennis Smith and James Smith of Jefferson City; four sisters: Cathy Washington, Patricia Washington, Deborah Smith and Beverly Sue Mahaney (Washington) all of Jefferson City; two grandchildren: Deveyon Washington and Jaidon Mahaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. James P. Mahaney, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, expressions of sympathy should be made to the Family of Clarence Ray Washington.
