Clarence Ray Washington, 50, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of Dora Nadine (Austin) Washington. Ray was a graduate of Jefferson City High School.

Ray worked for Lincoln University from 1981 – 1988, and also worked in automobile repair and various other jobs. He enjoyed basketball, football, automobile repair and loved listening to his music.

Ray is survived by his mother: Dora Nadine Washington of Jefferson City; two daughters: Stephanie L. Washington of Jefferson City; Wendy Steward of Jefferson City; one son: Ed Mahaney of Holts Summit; his soulmate: Phyllis Mahaney of the home; two brothers: Dennis Smith and James Smith of Jefferson City; four sisters: Cathy Washington, Patricia Washington, Deborah Smith and Beverly Sue Mahaney (Washington) all of Jefferson City; two grandchildren: Deveyon Washington and Jaidon Mahaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. James P. Mahaney, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery.
