Jack's Memory Tree

For more than 60 years, Jack Steppleman who was known as Mr. Christmas, would create an elaborate outdoor Christmas venue surrounding his home for the entire community to enjoy. Since his passing, we have honored Jack’s decades of work by inviting you and your family to place ornaments in memory of your loved ones on Jack’s Memory Tree.

Some of the best memories we have in life are of the times we spend together with family and friends during the Holidays. Our family, along with Jack’s family, started this new tradition of having an outdoor “Memory Tree” in honor of loved ones we miss dearly each holiday season.

This year, our family lost Mary Jane Wehr, the sister of Reid Millard. Mary Jane had an immense love for the Christmas season, and she especially loved giving everyone gifts. In her honor, we are introducing a Toys For Tots gift drive at this year’s Memory Tree event.

You and your family are invited to place an ornament, unique to your loved one, on Jack’s 30-foot Memory Tree, as well as the opportunity to donate toys to underprivileged children.

Special Prayers of Remembrance, the traditional reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the placing of the ornaments will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City. Local musician Tanner Henley will perform live music on piano and refreshments will be served for all.

We hope you will join us as we celebrate the memories of those special loved ones.
